Engineer & Founder

Bryan Norden

Building systems at the intersection of software, hardware & product.

Lead engineer on Paramount's Core Architecture Team (CAT) for Apple platforms. Founder & chief engineer at Nedron Labs — building MATS, an autonomous tracked robotics platform for Army Engineer operations, and K9 Sentinel, an AI safety system for working dogs.

// about

Systems engineer. Platform builder. Founder.

I'm a lead engineer on the Core Architecture Team (CAT) at Paramount, where I drive initiatives that improve the platform Paramount+ and Pluto TV ship on across iOS and tvOS — for both viewers and the 50+ engineers building on top of it. Previously led a team of seven engineers on live and video. The surface is Apple; underneath it's architecture, APIs, performance, and the kind of decisions that have to hold up at scale.

On the side I run Nedron Labs — a registered DOD contractor and small product studio. Flagship effort right now is MATS: a modular autonomous tracked system with swappable engineering tools (excavator bucket, robotic arm) and ROS 2-compatible autonomy for GPS/RF-denied environments — solution brief in front of ERDC-CERL for warfighter engineering operations. Alongside it: K9 Sentinel, an AI safety platform for working dogs born at the 2026 US Army xTech hackathon (and from my own SAR K9 work). All of it designed, fabricated, and tested in-house — welding, CNC, 3D printing, embedded, computer vision.

I write here about platform engineering, distributed systems, hardware builds, and what I'm learning as an engineer-founder in the AI era.
